From Emergency Relief to Recovery
Peterborough is served by over 200 wonderful charities who innovate every day to adapt and respond to the global pandemic. Charities provide crucial supports for people in need. They help make our community a safe and liveable place to call home.
Many charities are experiencing an increase in demand for services as people continue to feel the pinch due to job losses, lack of childcare, mental health issues, or problematic access to digital services. We know that COVID-19 has, and will continue to affect some individuals more than others. Orders to stay home, wear masks and physically distance are more difficult for those who rely on shelters, food banks and meal programs, and for those who work in essential services.
The Community Response Fund supports ongoing recovery needs as charities continue to adapt to and recover from the effects of the pandemic.
