The dream of creating a community foundation for the Peterborough area began in 2006, when a group of affordable housing advocates met in search of a way to work together to build a more fair and sustainable future for the community. With $40,000 and the support of committed local philanthropists, the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough was established.

In this November 13, 2019 segment from YourTV’s show Politically Speaking, Director, John Good says The Mount Community Centre, Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha and YWCA’s Homeward Bound are among the housing-related programs that are benefiting from funds from the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough. To support housing-related initiatives in the greater Peterborough area, consider donating to the Foundation’s Housing Field of Interest Fund.
