Community Knowledge
At the Community Foundation, we tap into community knowledge to understand our community’s unique strengths, needs and opportunities:
- We track community vitality and measure progress on areas that are critical to our quality of life through Vital Signs
- We nurture close relationships with an extensive network of local charities
- We engage the community in prioritizing local needs through Vital Conversations
We use our community knowledge to help donors and fund advisors create effective strategies for giving, so your philanthropy will make a meaningful and lasting impact in our community.
Plan Your Grants
Fund advisors will receive an annual fund statement each spring. This provides an update on the investment performance of the fund, and indicates how much money is available to grant in the current fiscal year. Granting recommendations can be made to the Foundation until early December each year.
Grants can only be made to qualified donees as defined by Canada Revenue Agency. We will verify an organization’s status before making a grant.
We invite fund advisors to consider pooling the granting allotment from their fund with those from other donors as part of our annual Vital Community Granting program. Our collective efforts can make a real difference in the community.
Contributions can be added to Donor Advised Funds at any point.
