Scott Kidd attended Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School (TASS) and went on to pursue a post secondary education at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Scott was an active member in the Peterborough community participating in a variety of sports and befriending most everyone he crossed paths with along the way.
Scott had an amazing impact on those whose lives he touched. Much of that impact continues today through his family and many friends who all carry a piece of Scott with them. It is through these great friendships that the Scott Kidd Memorial Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough was founded. This fund supports causes that Scott was passionate about in the community of Peterborough – a place he was so proud to call home.
One such cause is an annual award granted through the TASS Foundation to a graduating student who demonstrates the same enthusiasm for life as Scott. This student will have a genuine ability to brighten the spirits of those around them, be an active participant in the TASS Community, cultivate strong friendships, and demonstrate a curiosity to try new experiences and rally friends to join in as they live each day to the fullest. This student will also be pursuing a post-secondary education in the field of their choosing.
Through this fund, Scott’s zest for life, love of family and genuine kindness toward all will be carried on by investing in the community we are all fortunate to call home. Scott’s legacy can never be measured, but it will continue to grow!
