Social Finance Fund

In January of 2014, the Foundation received a donation from an anonymous donor to establish a Social Finance Fund. Under the terms of the Fund agreement, a $300,000 position was taken in the Community Bonds issued by The Mount Community Centre as they raised funds to begin renovations of the former convent.

Subsequent contributions from other donors have brought the Social Finance Fund principal to $355,000. The Mount repaid its Community Bonds in 2017 but the Social Finance Fund continues to provide funds for social purpose investments in our community.

Charities interested in raising loans at reasonable interest rates are welcome to contact the Community Foundation for more details.
Donors wishing to invest in the community through the Social Finance Fund are welcome to contribute additional gifts to the Fund!
