MEDIA RELEASE

Peterborough, ON – The Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough is accepting Expressions of Interest for its Vital Community Grants from charities in the City and County of Peterborough. The theme for the 2021 Vital Community Grants will be Equitable COVID-19 Recovery.

“Some communities have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 relative to others. Racialized communities, Indigenous people, women, people with disabilities and others facing systemic inequality have experienced a heightened chance of exposure to the virus, social isolation, lack of access to services and education, worse health outcomes, and adverse economic repercussions that have exacerbated housing and food security issues,” says Jennifer DeBues, Co-Executive Director at the Community Foundation. “The grants will support organizations whose work focuses on supporting people disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.”

Charities in the City and County of Peterborough are invited to submit their Expressions of Interest for the Vital Community Grants. The deadline to submit the Expressions of Interest is 5pm on September 10th.
